If you have high porosity, your hair benefits from a lot of moisture. Your hair is vulnerable to damage, so handle with care. Use thick-consistency, creamy products to help give your hair sheen and lock in moisture.
If you have medium porosity your hair is typically easily managed in regards to moisture retention. Heavy and lightweight products must find a balance in your routine in order to achieve optimal hair health.
If you have low porosity, you're probably prone to build up. Consider heavy products sparingly or use lighter products to keep your hair from getting limp. Products that are too heavy and used in excess, can weigh your hair down.
Your hair is thick sis! Density refers to how tightly your strands are packed into your scalp. Thicker gels and creams are usually ideal for your hair. Thicker hair is also great for occasional protective styles like box braids and other high manipulation styles.
Density refers to how tightly your strands are packed into your scalp. Medium-density hair works well with light leave-ins and spray-in leave-in conditioners. High manipulation styles like box braids should be applied sparingly to prevent breakage.
Your low-density hair is precious! It needs to be handled with lightweight products so that it doesn't get weighed down. High manipulation styles should be avoided to prevent breakage.
Coarse hair just means that your hair shaft is thick. This is referring to the circumference of your strand, unlike density. Coarse hair needs to be treated with deep conditions and masks in order to penetrate the shaft.
Medium Hair (Strands)
Your hair strands are right in the middle! Not too thick and not too thin. This means you need a mixed regimen of deep conditioners to penetrate the shaft of your strands and cleansing to encourage elasticity.
The circumference of your strands is small and narrow. It is important to utilize low manipulation styles. High manipulation styles will most likely cause breakage to your strands.
